Leaked: Instagram Video Calls

Leaked information is hinting at the idea that Instagram could be adding a video call feature in the near future.

A new video icon was spotted on an unreleased version of Instagram by WABetaInfo, who highlight that the feature is under development.

If so, this would bring the app more in-line with Facebook and WhatsApp, which are both owned by Facebook.

Instagram Finally Adds Scheduled Posts

Instagram has joined the likes of other social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, and LinkedIn by allowing scheduled posts.

Previously, Instagram scheduling revolved around receiving a notification reminding you to post specific content at a specific time. That is now a thing of the past…

As of now, business profiles can now schedule their posts. This can be done via the Instagram API. For the time being, this new update will be prioritized for larger organizations as many smaller business profiles don’t require a third-party software tool for Instagram.

It is expected that Instagram scheduled posts won’t just be limited to businesses in the future and non-business profile support may be arriving in early 2019.

No longer will Stories only let you upload live content or imagery recorded in the last 24 hours.

It is just as simple as before to share Stories. Just swipe up to access your photos, including those on your Camera Roll. Select any video or picture, edit, and then add to your story.

280 Character Tweets Roll Out Globally

280 character tweets have started to roll out to all users across the world.

The new tweet limit has been the subject of Twitter tests and the social network has decided to roll out 280 character tweets globally.

Announced via a blog post, Twitter stated: “Our goal was to make this possible while ensuring we keep the speed and brevity that makes Twitter, Twitter. Looking at all the data, we’re excited to share we’ve achieved this goal and are rolling the change out to all languages where cramming was an issue.”
